Why it is worth your time

Angel: How to Invest in Technology Startups is Jason's own book, published by HarperBusiness in 2017. It explains how he went from a Brooklyn kid with no capital to an early investor in Uber, Thumbtack and Robinhood, and sets out his method: how to get into deals, how to judge founders, how to size checks, why most bets go to zero and why the few that work pay for everything. He covers syndicates and AngelList. It is written for people with money who want to start angel investing. We include it because he wrote it, not because he recommended it. It suits new angels and founders who want to understand how the people across the table think. The caveat is age. It was published in 2017, so its deal examples and valuations are from the mid-2010s.
